Every Marauder team is required to hold a meeting early in the season to give all parents and players the opportunity to meet the coaching staff, learn about team and athletic department policies, and have the opportunity for a Q and A session. The boys' soccer meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 4th from 6:45 - 7:33 p.m. in the HHS Auditorium. Please make an effort to attend! The meeting will be held in conjunction with Freshman Parent Night, which will be in the same location from 5:30 - 6:45. We're hoping that having a two-fer on the same night will mitigate having to endure back-to-back meetings. There will be a vote afterwards to see which meeting was more informative and entertaining.
During the first meeting, for all Freshman parents, the Freshman boys' team will be busy on the turf, having been invited to play a rematch against the HHS Girls' Varsity. The game between those two teams on Wednesday went so well that a rematch was logical. We are complemented. The Marauder girls are defending state champs, and playing them is a great experience. Especially given that today's game was postponed (until Sept. 11), it's wonderful to insert a competitive game in an otherwise "empty" week. tis just what the girls need, too, since their season doesn't open until next Saturday.
So, mark your calendars for Wednesday: Frosh vs. Varsity Girls at 5:00 on the turf, Parent/Player meeting in the Auditorium for all four teams at 6:45.
Don't forget the home openers for JV1 and Varsity on Tuesday September 3rd: JV1 at 4:00 on the HHS grass, and Varsity at 6:00 on the turf. We will be collecting donations of non-perishable food items for the Haven Food Pantry on Tuesday.
