JV1 Beats Keene 3-1, Now 4-1

Hanover's JV1 squad overcame an early deficit and a number of frustrations and distractions to earn a scrappy 3-1 victory over Keene on Tuesday, improving their record ton 4-1.  The match began inauspiciously for the Marauders, as a missed tackle at the 18 in the fourth minute allowed a Keene striker in along, and the locals trailed 1-0.  It could have been 2-0  a few minutes later, but Tom Lyons swept in and made a saving tackle to keep Keene's lead at one.

The Marauders settled into the match and came close to tying things in the 25th minute when a good buildup gave Jack Ross the chance to rip a shot over the bar from 25 yards out.  A free kick opportunity created the opening for Hanover to tie the game in the 25th minute.  A cheeky quick restart to Jack Ross sent him into a wall of defenders, and when the bvall eventually fell to Oscar, he made no mistake and leveled the score at 1-1.

It took Hanover a while to work their way into the second half.  Jack Maynes was called on to make a one on one save, and a few minutes later a comical call in the box gave Keene a golden chance that was skied over the bar.

The Marauders went ahead in the 62nd minute on a free kick by Mitch Aspinwall, and Derek Lacy put the icing on the cake with a left footed blast on a counterattack after a failed Keene free kick.
Hanover's next home game will move to the spacious confines of the Dresden Pasture on Saturday, a homecoming match at 12:00 Noon.
