With a little fall of rain in the forecast, three Hanover teams will host home games on Thursday. With no lightning in the forecast, there is no need to worry about cancellation or postponement. We will all play Thursday, rain or shine. The JV2 squad will host Fall Mountain at Dresden at 4:30, and the Varsity and JV1 will entertain Concord at 4:00 on the Grass Field at HHS (JV1) and the Turf (Varsity).
If the rain looks serious (forecast to start at about 2:00, and move through relatively fast), we'd be happy to borrow some pop-up tents at any of the three venues, with the following understanding: if there is a tent on the Hanover side, there also needs to be one on the visiting side. If there are two tents, one on each side. If there are three, one on each side and one in the middle. And so forth. We do not (and never have) taken care of ourselves and ignored our guests. Every player, whether playing or practicing, is encouraged to bring a small garbage bag to stash personal equipment (gear bag, shoes, etc.). Actually, that garbage bag should always be stashed in every player's equipment bag, in case rain pops up out of nowhere, which hasn't happened since yesterday.
Please try and bring a food donation (or a check) for The Haven Food Pantry. There will be a donation box near the Snack Shack at the Varsity game. Checks for the Haven are tax deductible. Remember, we have a donor who has promised to match every gift. Let's maximize our impact!
